The two brothers put their differences aside to sign off the final design for a statue of their late mother Princess Diana

Prince William and Prince Harry may not be on the best of terms but the two have agreed on one thing now, and that is regarding a statue that will be built in tribute to their mother, the late Princess Diana.

The statue is set to be unveiled at Kensington Palace on July 1, which would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.

Both William and Harry have been working closely with the statue’s sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley since they commissioned the project back in 2017. The brothers had also set up a working committee to oversee the project. According to the British newspaper, The Sun, the sculptor has sent the statue to be cast following feedback from the brothers.

Over the past year, the brothers’ relationship had seemingly deteriorated although neither party had confirmed it. However, Prince Harry has hinted at their strained relationship in a number of interviews.

Most recently, in his controversial sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey and his wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry shared that he and his brother are “on different paths”.

He added: “The relationship is space at the moment. And time heals all things, hopefully.”

The two princes are scheduled to reunite at Kensington Palace for the unveiling of their mother’s statue. It will be Prince Harry’s first official appearance as a British royal since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and moving to California with his wife and son.
