2. I Am Citizen

What Three years and countless art markets later, The Local People, the people behind some of the country's coolest markets supporting homegrown artists and their crafts, will hold a fun and alternative way for folks to celebrate National Day this year. Held in light of the nation's 54th birthday, the next signature art market will be held at the former St. Andrew's Mission Hospital and will see a live streaming of the parade itself, alongside a wide array of art booths selling adorable trinkets inspired by local metaphors in a homage to the nation's birthday and the Singaporean national identity.

3. National Day Open House at the National Museum

What There is something interesting for everyone at the National Museum that highlights some of the country's most fascinating narratives this National Day. If you have ever wondered about how food products were packaged back in the late 19th century, head to the museum's special Packaging Matters exhibition where you'll be able to see a fascinating collection of artifact collections from then.

History buffs will be able to take a walk down memory lane as they journey through 700 years of history, while film enthusiasts can gather at The Salon to catch an immersive line-up of 15 short films, each featuring Singaporeans who have chosen to give back to society between the 1970s and 1990s. Kids are also included in the fun as a series of physical activities such as a colouring competition, scavenger hunt, and racing simulator seek to keep them wildly entertained.

4. Heritage Hurray!

What The Singaporean identity is rooted in a vivid composition of different cultures, a deep passion for food, and a general obsession with cleanliness on our streets and public transportation. The former will then be cultivated in a massive celebration held at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall over the National Day weekend, which aims to bring citizens together to create shared memories based on our rich heritage. Featuring a community art market, an ang ku kueh and kueh lapis vinyl toy painting workshop, and a heritage clay sculpting workshop among many other interactive activities, revel in the nation's birthday celebrations and have a go at these sessions this holiday.
