1/9 Live charity auction by Ode To Art

Gallery director Jazz Chong of Ode To Art will be hosting a live auction on April 13, where a total of eight artworks will be up for bidding. The Singapore-based gallery has committed to raising funds for low-income families who have been impacted by the effects of covid-19 by channelling all of its proceeds from the auction towards the Singapore-registered charity, Methodist Welfare Services.

2/9 Live concerts by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO)

In the spirit of bringing the community together through the arts, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra has launched an extensive programme that would allow avid concert-goers to access newly recorded concerts and performances from its archives, all from the comfort of their homes. Acclaimed violinist Kam Ning and Cultural Medallion winner Kelly Tang will be among the local musicians and composers scheduled to showcase their works every alternate Wednesday in an audio series titled Singapore Composers: From the Archives. While Singapore-based conductor Jason Lai leads audiences through a guided meditation session featuring classical music every Sunday afternoon. 

 

3/9 Musical productions by Andrew Lloyd Webber

For those looking to be inspired by the theatre, internationally acclaimed English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's newest web series will allow audiences to stream his most famous productions online—certain to check all the right boxes for creatives and theatre enthusiasts alike. The first of the series was the 1968 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, with the next release of Jesus Christ Superstar scheduled on April 10—just in time for Easter.

4/9 Performance highlights by Esplanade Offstage

Singapore's beloved performing arts centre has now taken its productions online at Esplanade Offstage, where it will showcase a selection of past performances. To date, the line-up includes last year's concert by the Singapore-based Mandopop duo Stellavee, as well as the highlights from Aspidistrafly and Haruka Nakamura's joint concert held in 2016.

5/9 Past theatre productions by The Necessary Stage

The Necessary Stage will be bringing 100 home audiences an online theatre production of Those Who Can't, Teach next Thursday, to prove that a shared theatre experience can still take place in light of the government-mandated measures. The play, which was originally directed by Alvin Tan and written by homegrown playwright Haresh Sharma, explores the lives of both teachers and students in a secondary school system. Audiences will also be joined by both theatre veterans after the screening for a post-dialogue session, joined by the production's original cast members, Karen Tan, Siti Khalijah Zainal, Joshua Lim, Lian Sutton and Ghafir Akbar, who will be present in the digital audience. 

6/9 Virtual conference hosted by NewCampus

The folks at NewCampus have curated a series of virtual conferences scheduled from April 17 onwards, each two weeks apart that explores important topics of remote working, leadership and mental wellness that have come to the forefront in light of the recent covid-19 pandemic. 

The upcoming session will feature workshops and talks with the likes of Tiziana Tan, founder of Brain Juice Collective and documentary film producer, as well as Mohan Belani, CEO and co-founder of tech media platform, e27.

8/9 Music performances by the Montreux Jazz Festival

The Montreux Jazz Festival has been a staple in the music festival circuit since 1967, where industry heavyweights have graced the stage to thrill nearly 250,000 fans annually from all over the world. This month, it is offering the public with over 50 recorded live performances by the likes of Nina Simone, Carlos Santana, Marvin Gaye, as well as the Wu-Tang Clan, to bring excitement from their festival grounds to everyone's households to amp up your weeknights.

9/9 Experience luxury living with Belmond

Ease your cabin fever with luxury travel group Belmond, as they roll out a spectacular programme this April, hosted live on their Instagram page by entertainers such as Joe Stilgoe.
