Who are the cast of Singapore Social and why are people up in arms about this Netflix show?
“Do you find that other women could be intimidated by you?”
“…They’d better be.”
If you thought we were quoting a line from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or Keeping Up With The Kardashians—we don’t blame you. It’s actually a line from the upcoming Netflix reality show or docuseries Singapore Social, which explores the lives of young Singaporeans. While not much has been released about the show, the official trailer dropped on November 8, sending fellow Singaporean netizens into quite a tizzy online.

Many were confused by the plot, which seems to involve the cast members’ various relationship drama, parental or societal expectations, the quest for happiness and apparently lots of glitz and glamour. Based on public comments left by netizens on social media, the general sentiment is that most don't agree that the show depicts an accurate representation of life in Singapore. Some have likened it to the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians, which famously presented an upscale Singaporean backdrop. But it's still early days and all we've seen is a short trailer so far.
The series will make its debut on November 22, here’s what we know about the cast so far.
