This new deal means that they will be able to add feature films, gaming and live events to its pact with Rhimes' company, Shondaland Media.

"The pact currently includes a branding and merchandise deal for Shondaland Media content, which will now add live events and experiences," Netflix said in a statement.

The news comes months after it was announced that season two of the historical romance drama would be out soon and that three more seasons of Bridgerton had already been ordered.

This newly expanded deal with Netflix will also include financial support for a diversity initiative that was launched by Shondaland. The initiative is aimed at increasing the number of women and people of colour in the entertainment industry.
