Zeena Tan, 27

This corporate lawyer at an investment holding company is the daughter of society fundraiser and ikebana proponent Linda Soo-Tan. She enjoys photography and never leaves for a holiday without her trusty Leica Q camera.

The most important lesson that my parents have taught me is
Gratitude, and never taking people for granted.

Traits I've inherited from my parents
Determination in life.

On my lust list
Another camera lens!

My style in three words
Colourful, relaxed, elegant.

Style icon
My mum. Her sense of style is so vibrant, distinctive and is truly a manifestation of her personality.

Dawn Koh, 30

Le Cordon Bleu-trained Dawn and award-winning cookbook author and self‑taught chef Bryan run cake companies Chalk Farm and Milk Moons together with mum Ginny Ng, a retired stalwart in luxury retail.

The most important lesson that my parents have taught me
Never be afraid to get your hands dirty and be passionate about anything you do

Assumptions about me
People think I love to party. On the contrary, I'm a bit of a homebody.

Favourite family tradition
Definitely, Christmas dinner because Bryan (her brother) cooks up a scrumptious three-day feast!

My last family vacay
The whole family flew to Manila for Chinese New Year. Although I recently just went to Tokyo with my mum for some mother-daughter time together.

Last thing I bought
Incense sticks from Tokyo which I love.

Bryan Koh, 35

The most important lesson that my parents have taught me
They taught me the value of hard work. Discipline is key to success; mere talent will not suffice.

Assumptions about me
That I am shy. I’m not very talkative, but I’m not shy.

Favourite family tradition
It would have to be Christmas dinner. I’m always in charge of it. I make roast turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes—the works. I make far more than is necessary so I can have the leftovers for meals the following day.

Style icon
I do think my sister is quite the style icon. But I can’t say I have one.

Favourite item that my mother handed down to me
It’s probably a battered old cookbook that my mom got in India decades ago.
