Meaghan See, Elizabeth Heah, Shivika Jhunjhnuwala and Alina Tan travel back in time and discover the old-timely charms of heritage boutique hotel Naumi Liora, while decked in heritage jewellery pieces by Bulgari.

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." For Meaghan See, Elizabeth Heah, Shivika Jhunjhnuwala and Alina Tan, Albert Einstein’s words of wisdom bode well with their responsibilities as heirs to the illustrious families of Singapore.

The beautiful and intelligent young ladies are now on the cusp of achieving greatness. Some have decided to follow in the footsteps of their parents by joining the family business, while others have forged ahead on different career paths, but armed with the unwavering support of their families.

Decked in heritage pieces from Bulgari’s archives, the girls talk to us about how they’ve kept their family legacy alive in their own unique ways. Much like the Naumi Liora Hotel we conduct the photo shoot at, the ladies constantly strive to keep their family heritage while walking on a path of innovation, independence and modernity.

Housed within Chinatown, Naumi Liora sits in the cool Keong Saik enclave amidst a host of hot watering holes. The low-rise building dates back to the 1920s, and retains traditional Peranakan, Chinese and Malay elements. A bold orange tone colours the façade, with neo-classical touches in the form of carved panels.

It sets the tone for the interior, that Naumi Liora’s design team has carefully done up, retaining accents that mimic the cultural influences. There are three types of rooms available at the intimate boutique hotel, and for this shoot, we congregate at the Liora Porch, the largest room in the hotel. It features a balcony, and Peranakan elements in the form of a lattice wall feature and wooden floors abound.

Shivika Jhunjhnuwala, daughter of the founders of Naumi Hotels Surya and Ritu Jhunjhnuwala, has recently joined the family business in the marketing team. She’s wearing a Bulgari necklace and bracelet from 1977 in gold with coral, onyx, mother–of-pearl and diamonds; and a gown by Trinity Gallery

Alina Tan, daughter of Tan Khar Nai and Tan Kong King, is a law graduate. She’s wearing Bulgari necklace and earrings from 1969 in gold with cultured pearls, coral and diamonds; and a gown by The Prelude Bridal

Daughter of Jaacky and Maria See, Meaghan See has specialised in Environmental Law, and Energy and Clean Technology Law. She’s wearing Bulgari necklace and bracelet from 1977 in gold with coral, onyx, mother–of-pearl and diamonds; and a gown by Trinity Gallery

Elizabeth Heah follows in the footsteps of her parents Caroline Low-Heah and Heah Sieu Min and is currently studying medicine. She’s wearing a Bulgari necklace from 1958 in gold and platinum with turquoise, rubies and diamonds; and a gown by Trinity Gallery
