The president said that Queen Elizabeth was “very generous” and has invited her to visit the White House

Over the weekend, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr Jill Biden visited Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. Ahead of their private tea session, the reigning monarch informally met the Bidens for the first time at a reception for G7 leaders at the Eden Project. The meeting, which lasted almost over an hour, included a military display, where the president—accompanied by the Officer Commanding of the Guard of Honour, Major James Taylor, and Major General Christopher Ghika—inspected the Guard of Honour, Harper’s Bazaar reports. The Queen’s Company Battalion Grenadier Guard then gave a Royal Salute as the “Star Spangled Banner” played. Following which, the trio headed into the castle’s private quarters for refreshments.

Following their inaugural meeting, the president shared a few details from their meeting, saying that the Queen was "extremely gracious", and that "she reminded me of my mother, in terms of the look of her and just the generosity." He also mentioned that he has invited the Queen for a future visit at the White House, and they even hoped to extend their meeting, with Biden recalling saying, "I said, 'I wish we could stay longer. Maybe we could hold the cars up a minute.'"

He later posted a photo of himself, along Dr Biden and the Queen at Windsor, saying, “Honoured to have met Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor Castle this afternoon.”

President Biden is the 13th out of 14 sitting US presidents that the Queen has met with (oddly, Lyndon Johnson was the only president that she seems to have missed for some reason).
