Marina Bay Sands Casino Covid-19 Cluster: Everything You Need to Know
As Singapore enters Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) today, we are unfortunately continuing to report more clusters around the island in addition to our two biggest clusters: the Jurong Fishery Port cluster and the KTV lounges cluster, both of which are also reportedly linked to each other.
On July 22, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that a new cluster had cropped up at Marina Bay Sands Casino.
The Marina Bay Sands Casino cluster, which is part of Singapore's 28 current clusters, has a total of 11 cases as of July 22.
MOH has announced that they are in the process of investigating people who worked in or visited Marina Bay Sands Casino to see how the spread happened.
So far, epidemiological investigations have found that there is likely ongoing transmission at the casino and special testing operations have begun for all casino staff members.
Additionally, to allow for deep cleaning and prevent more cases, Marina Bay Sands Casino will also be closed to the public from July 22 to August 5.
If you had visited Marina Bay Sands Casino between July 7 and July 12, you are eligible for free Covid-19 testing. Affected members of the public are encouraged to get tested to protect themselves as well as everyone else during this difficult time.
