Comirnaty is identical to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and will be called Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty in official health records

Singapore will soon be receiving a new batch of vaccines, called Comirnaty.

In a statement on Wednesday (June 23), MOH said the vaccines are the same as the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines that are now used in the national vaccination programme.

This move comes as Singapore attempts to increase their vaccine supplies in order to get as many people vaccinated as possible

The new vaccines have the same research name, BNT162b2, as the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and are manufactured using the same processes and procedures in order to meet the same finished product specifications as the Pfizer-BioNTech shots.

They are manufactured in Europe and will be shipped directly to Singapore with the only difference being in the labels.

This is due to the fact that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines used in Singapore are manufactured at various sites across Europe and are labelled according to the regulatory approval in the various markets, according to MOH.

If you receive this vaccine in the coming weeks, you will see this reflected in your HealthHub records and it will be labelled Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty.
