Don’t worry, the BTS Army have already launched an investigation of their own

Hold your horses, BTS fans—but the biggest band in the world just got their Tiktok account hacked. And no one seems to know the real reason why.

According to NME, the band’s official account was compromised on March 9. Instead of actual content, the BTS Army (which is what fans of the band are called) saw a variety of cartoon clips that were unrelated to the seven members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.

Additionally, the alleged hacker continued to post more videos and this enabled sharp-eyed members of the BTS Army to notice a few things. First, the account was following a user called o2m and another named 3mk_mosab.

Leave it to the fans to discover that these accounts also had similar videos that were on BTS’ Tiktok account.

Just like that, the boyband’s loyal fans managed to realise that something was indeed amiss and took things into their own hands. Many had started tweeting at BTS’ label Big Hit Entertainment demanding they solve the problem and take legal action. The company is well known for initiating legal proceedings against perpetrators of any ill-intentioned or malicious activities and criticisms that are aimed at BTS.

The K-pop kings are up for their first Grammy nomination at the upcoming awards on Monday—making them the first K-pop act to be nominated for a Grammy. The septet is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song Dynamite, which is also their first English song. The chart-topping single had shot to number one on global charts, including Billboard's Hot 100.

On top of their historic nomination, the band will also be the first Korean act to perform during the ceremony. Last year, they joined Lil Nas X on stage for a medley of the rapper's country rap single Old Town Road.
