If you’re guilty of letting your favourite sitcom run in the background as you go on with your daily chores, raise your hand—and read this list for some of our favourite series that we’ll never get tired of

Friends

Everyone’s favourite friends will always be Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, Joey and Ross. The iconic sitcom may have ended its run over 25 years ago, but it seems like the world can never seem to get enough of watching the sextet hang out at Central Perk coffee house. They recently caused a huge frenzy on social media when all six actors posted on their Instagram account about an imminent reunion for an upcoming HBO special.

Modern Family

Fans of this show are soon going to commiserate as they bid adieu to TV’s most dysfunctional yet lovable family. Come April, the long-running comedy will air the second half of its final season. While it was originally planned to end at season 10, it was renewed for an extra season in 2019 much to the relief of fans everywhere. Alas, all good things must come to an end.

The Office

This mockumentary may have just commemorated its 15th year anniversary, but its popularity makes it so hard to believe that the show is no longer on air. Steve Carell and John Krasinski, two of the leading actors, paid tribute to the show by hosting a short segment together on Youtube. Fun fact: Singer Billie Eilish is so loyal a fan that she sampled part of an episode of The Office for one of the songs on her Grammy-winning album When We Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?.

The Good Place

Looking for a show that’s unlike any other? This feel-good sitcom stars Kirsten Bell, whose character has died and gone to, well, "The Good Place". Or so she thought. Filled with lots of plot twists and larger-than-life characters, it’s an enjoyable watch so don’t be surprised if you can’t seem to pull your eyes away from the screen.

Parks and Recreation

If your idea of a good show involves lots of satire, Parks and Recreation is made for you. The series, which aired from 2009 to 2015, follows Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope carries out her role as the enthusiastic deputy director of the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, a fictional town in Indiana. But what's so appealing about the comedy is how it combines veteran comedians such as Nick Offerman with newer stars like Aziz Ansari to create a remarkable cast. In fact, the show was created by the makers of The Office so it's not quite possible to get through an episode without laughter. And we all need more of that in this climate. As Donna Meagle would say: Treat yourself.
