The 31st Billboard Music Awards were held last weekend and as expected, it was a glamorous event full of the hottest red carpet looks, the most unique performances and of course, shocking wins and losses.

From Pink's incredible acrobatic performance with her daughter to South Korean act BTS and their heart-stopping performance of their new hit song, Butter, we were quite literally on the edges of our seats for the entire event.

1. Pink and her daughter's gravity-defying performance

Pink stunned audiences on Sunday night when she gave a gravity-defying performance with her nine-year-old daughter, Willow. Pink carried her daughter onstage and the pair then gave an acrobatic performance to their duet, Cover Me in Sunshine.

At the end of their act, Willow gave her mother a high-five before leaving the stage so Pink could continue with a medley of her top hits. It was certainly an adorable moment for the mother-daughter duo and we could not be happier to have gotten to witness their performance together.

2. BTS wins in all the categories they were nominated in

BTS won big at the Billboard awards this year with the K-pop group picking up all four awards they were nominated for. The group won awards for Top Social Artist, Top Duo/Group, Top Selling Song and Top Song Sales Artist.

This is also the fifth consecutive year that the superstars have clinched the Top Social Artist award.

The group then went on to wow audiences with the debut of their new record-breaking single, Butter, on the global stage. The music video for the song, which was released last week, also broke a YouTube record for the highest 24-hour views over the weekend.

3. Sounds of Blackness gave a moving tribute to their song, Optimistic

Sounds of Blackness' song, Optimistic, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and the Grammy-winning ensemble put up a highly emotional rendition of the song on stage at the awards show.

Their moving rendition featured photos from the Black Lives Matter movement which played in the background as they sang. There was certainly not a dry eye around during their performance.

4. Bon Jovi gives Pink a hilarious gift

While introducing Pink, the 2021 Billboard icon recipient, Bon Jovi started sharing a funny story about a gift he once sent her.

A while back, Pink admitted that she had a childhood crush on the singer and that she had been heartbroken to learn that he was married. In response, Bon Jovi sent her a huge bouquet of flowers as well as a pair of leather pants.

He had hilariously written along with the gift, "Now you can finally get in my pants."

We can safely say that Pink was certainly blushing hard at that anecdote.
