A contemporary and sophisticated rendition of Prohibition Era speakeasies, The Other Room, is just as mysterious as its name suggests. A secret room veiled from plain sight by a black curtain in the Marriot Tang Plaza Hotel, it is a veritable house of cocktail curiosities and a labour of love from “The Man Behind”, Dario Knox. Likening himself to a cocktail evolutionist, he has created a selection of multisensory concoctions that is rumoured to be available nowhere else in the world. There are also whispers on the grapevine of a passport allowing one to “unlock” a secret cocktail menu when a “Golden Key” is attained. How does one acquire this elusive key? By going on a quest quaffing all the signature cocktails on offer. Once achieved, the indomitable drinker will get the coveted opportunity to taste Knox’s clandestine creations. The bar also boasts having over 150 premium and craft spirits, plus being the only place in the world to debut a new concept of in-house cask spirit finishing—all of which make it ready to delight the most discerning of cocktail savants.
