Tandoor’s Sunday brunch buffet typically commands a full house, with diners having their fill of popular Indian dishes. The restaurant offers a good mix of meat and vegetable dishes on the buffet line, along with a live station offering piping-hot dosai as well as freshly made chaat (savoury snacks). North Indian mainstays such as butter chicken, mutton rogan josh and shabnam ki moti (stuffed mushrooms coated with cheese) don’t disappoint, with the kesari pulao (saffron-flavoured rice) serving as the light, aromatic base on which the richer dishes display their robust flavours. The dishes rotate on a weekly basis; you could be tucking into a Goan prawn curry one week and a crab masala the next. No Indian meal would be complete without the requisite sweets, and the buffet offers a good selection, from the light sabudana kheer (milk dumplings) to the rich gulab jamun (deep-fried in sugar syrup).

Try calling ahead to find out what seafood dishes will be in rotation on a particular weekend, and plan your visit accordingly. Some dishes such as the crab masala, which features shell-less crabmeat cooked in a rich gravy, are great value on the buffet—especially considering that dish’s typical à la carte price of $39.
