This stalwart sushi-ya continues to dish out omakase menus showcasing the nature’s best harvest. Offerings range from the nine-piece Hana menu (available for lunch on weekdays) to the chef’s omakase special, which gives diners the full works—appetisers, nigiri, sushi and cooked dishes. Somewhere in between is the reasonably priced 15-piece Yuki set, comprising seasonal produce such as Spanish mackerel, golden eye snapper, trout and tuna. These are skillfully sliced by the Japanese chefs, soaked in soya sauce or delicately torched (aburi style), and placed atop sushi rice imbued with the restaurant’s special vinegar. The menu comes with complimentary green tea to cleanse the palate, but a succinct list of sakes is also available for sharing.
