Chef Denis Lucchi taps on his childhood Italian recipes and reinterprets them with his refined culinary style and wanderlust

 

With just 10 tables in a gleaming white room, Buona Terra manages to be modern, yet cosy. You order from a set Lunch Experience or Dinner Experience menu of up to nine little courses, all presented like edible jewels on their own uniquely designed plates. The presentation has the delicate refinement of Japan, but the flavours are contemporary Northern Italian. They include interesting dishes, from pasta with fresh shaved truffles, to grilled breast of wood pigeon and wild mushrooms. The chef changes the menu to reflect what's in season, but you can personalise the menu further by choosing the exact pasta and cut of meat you like, such as soft Wagyu or dry-aged beef. Starters are especially photogenic. For example, the black squid ink tarts are filled with avocado, raw tuna and caviar, while Just Tomato are whole, cooked micro tomatoes that pop in your mouth in a delightful explosion of flavour. The friendly but not intrusive service is the final touch that ensures Buona Terra stands out as a consistently excellent choice for every kind of gathering: a sophisticated family celebration; a business dinner; or a romantic date night.
