Ash & Elm prides itself on its three culinary theatres: the charcuterie and cheese room, the wood-fired oven and the open charcoal grill kitchen. These are helmed by award-winning French chef Philippe Duc, who earned his stripes working at Michelin-starred establishments all over the world. He presents an extensive, refined European menu served in big portions that are good for sharing. The pumpkin and bacon flatbread, baked to a crisp in the wood-fired oven, is an excellent dish to whet the appetite. Not to be missed is the rib-eye steak with its gorgeous marbling, cooked to medium-rare so it retains that soft and juicy texture. There’s a good range of old and new world wines (served by the bottle and by the glass) to pair with the meal; if you’re unsure what to order, the sommelier is there to lend you a hand.
