Sofitel Singapore City Centre
One of Singapore’s newest luxury wedding venues, Sofitel Singapore City Centre promises to make every union an enchanting bespoke affair.
You can trust the French to come up with the most beautiful love stories. In October 2017, Paris-headquartered luxury hotel chain Sofitel Hotels & Resorts unveiled its third property in Singapore, which promises to be the setting for unforgettable weddings delivered in the hospitality group’s legendary “magnifique” style.
Set in a French garden-inspired building in Tanjong Pagar, Sofitel Singapore City Centre gives couples everything they need for a grand bespoke celebration. Customised floral arrangements? Check. Multi-faceted venues? Check. Award-winning cuisine? Check. You will also have the full attention of your personal Magnifique Wedding specialist who will anticipate your needs and see to the tiniest of details so your dream wedding can unfold. “We strive to ensure that every wedding planning journey is seamless, convenient and fulfilling not only for us, but for the couple. Apart from providing premium banquet services, we will also guide couples to customise their event in order to create the kind of wedding-day memories they want,” says Fern Koh, the hotel’s assistant director of catering sales.
The hotel’s piece de resistance is the Wallich Ballroom which sets the stage for opulent celebrations with its capacity for 450 guests and luxurious touches including Bohemian crystal lights, LED mood lights and a 42-foot mega screen. For convenient outfit changes, the ballroom comes with its own bridal VIP room, the Wallich Suite. The private ballroom foyer meanwhile offers a cosy spot for drinks and canapes.
For smaller events like a wedding lunch, consider the daylight-filled Saga Ballroom, but if it’s the magic of saying “I do” in the great outdoors that you are after, choose the Lawn, which overlooks the central business district and harbour.
Wedding packages for lunch and dinner include your choice of a Chinese set lunch or Western set menu prepared under the baton of executive chef Jean-Charles Dubois and head of Chinese kitchen chef Andrew Chong, complimentary butler pass canapes for your pre-event cocktail reception, four hours of unlimited soft drinks, a bottle of champagne, a barrel of beer as well as a bottle of house wine for each table of 10 guests. Even decorations are taken care of; depending on your preference, the events team will deck the aisle and stage with fresh floral stands and set every table with a floral centrepiece.
After your soiree, retreat to the Prestige Suite where a warm meal awaits you, along with wine and gourmet chocolates. The indulgence continues the next day with complimentary breakfast for two at Racines Restaurant or you can opt for an in-room American breakfast. Special gifts for newlyweds include a handcrafted scarf and pochette designed by Italian artist Arianna Caroli. Tying the knot is always a magnificent affair at Sofitel Singapore City Centre.
Orchestrating Celebrations with Personality
Most Hotels offer a set of Wedding themes to pick from for couples’ convenience, but if a cookie-cutter wedding is not for you, Fern Koh, Assistant Director of Catering Sales at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, suggests ways to inject your personality into your event to truly “own” it:
Side Bars: For couples who wish to curate out-of-the-ordinary, creative and unique culinary experiences for their wedding guests, Sofitel Singapore City Centre opens the possibilities to a slew of quirky epicurean magic. Imagine a ballroom foyer dotted with live dessert stations that brim with bespoke pastries as well as handcrafted ice-cream created and customised by the hotel’s pastry chefs in accordance with the palates of the bride and groom.
Floral Wonderland: Do you want a Bohemian vibe or an English rose garden? Or, how about the garden of paradise? Create something unique that resonates with you both. Go on an adventure of sorts as you curate one-of-a-kind arrangements with the help of our wedding concierge and accredited florist.
Entertainment: For a party that will engage guests, carefully work entertainment into the programme. From a harpist strumming dreamy tunes at the cocktail reception to an aerial display and a live jazz band that will get guests dancing, the wedding concierge will help you with your entertainment needs through its partnerships with event planners who provide access to a melange of entertainment possibilities.
