Banker and philanthropist Trina Liang-Lin has turned from investment banking to investing in the future of people and the planet with Templebridge and Halo Health Asia

Trina Liang-Lin, managing director of boutique investment research consulting firm Templebridge Investments, is a veteran in the Asian bond market securities sector having worked in senior roles at global investment banks in Singapore, Hong Kong and London. She is also a force in philanthropy, engaged in good for a diverse range of causes, including food nutrition and animal welfare.

As chief executive of social enterprise Halo Health Asia, Liang-Lin steers the non-profit in its efforts to disseminate accurate food information to consumers, aided by professional advisers from the food industry. The firm organises an annual flagship conference, World Food Future,  which addresses pertinent topics such as nutrition, food sustainability and the future of food.  

In 2016, she established the Lin Foundation, which provides scholarships for Singapore Management University students studying overseas, with her husband, Edmund Lin. Liang-Lin also sits on the boards of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, the Community Foundation of Singapore, the Singapore Repertory Theatre and Victoria Junior College. She was also past president of the Singapore Committee for UN Women and the Financial Women’s Association of Singapore. 

She recently set up the Women in Sustainability & Environment (Wise) society and is also the founder of FoodSteps, a nutrition education outreach programme for primary school children in Singapore from lower-income backgrounds.

Liang-Lin has also worked on political campaigns; she was involved in former Singapore head of state Tony Tan’s presidential election campaign.
