Tan Hee Teck is president and chief operating officer of Genting Singapore, the local division of Malaysian gaming giant Genting Group, which manages the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) gaming complex. Tan has also been the chief executive officer of RWS since 2007, after steering Genting in its bid to become one of Singapore’s two integrated resort operators. Under Tan’s stewardship, Genting Singapore is planning RWS 2.0, a SG$4.5 billion expansion project in which the property’s gross floor area will grow by 50 per cent, adding 1.8 million sq ft of entertainment and leisure space. The planned additions include new themed areas at the S.E.A. Aquarium, 1,100 more hotel rooms as part of a new “waterfront lifestyle complex” and expanded MICE facilities. The project has been put on hold until 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tan is also a board member of the Central Provident Fund Board of Singapore, and a board member and honorary secretary of the Singapore Hotel Association. He is vice-president and co-founder of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation, a charitable organisation in Singapore.
