Miguel Ko

Miguel Ko is chairman of real estate investment management and real estate development firm CapitaLand and deputy chairman of CLA Real Estate Holdings (Ascendas-Singbridge).

Ko comes from a storied past in hospitality, having worked as chairman and president of Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts, as well as deputy chairman and CEO of CDL Hotels International. He also had a notable stint in the food and beverage industry as president of Pepsi-Cola International Asia Pacific, where he steered the soft drink giant’s entry into regional markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Ko has also worked as a director with local and international brands such as Changi Airport Group, Formula One, Samsonite and Merlin Entertainment.

Ko is also the chairman of Ascendas Hospitality Fund Management and Ascendas Hospitality Trust Management. He has won various awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 at the China Hotel Investment Conference in Shanghai and the 2007 Global Awards at the World Travel Mart in London. He also picked up the HICAP (Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific) Lifetime Achievement Award in October 2021, for his contributions to advancing the hotel industry in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
