Senior partner Lee Eng Beng has driven the regional expansion of one of the “big four” local law firms, Rajah & Tann

Lee Eng Beng is senior partner at Rajah & Tann Singapore and chairman of Rajah & Tann Asia. He is credited with growing the legal firm’s regional presence and launching the Rajah & Tann Asia brand; the firm currently has offices in ten countries in the region.

Lee also spearheaded a number of initiatives that grew the firm. He had an active hand in the launch of Rajah & Tann Technologies, a company offering tech-enabled legal solutions; the inception of R&T Asia Resources, which provides lawyers to organisations seeking project-specific and short-term in-house counsel; and the debut of Business Fundamentals, a new practice group aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups.

Under Lee’s leadership as managing partner from 2010 to 2019, Rajah & Tann Singapore has won numerous awards and handled major cases, such as the US$12bn privatisation of Global Logistic Properties in 2018. In 2017, the senior counsel also represented Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang in the high-profile case regarding their late father Lee Kuan Yew’s estate.
