There is nothing more comforting than a plate of Hainanese curry rice. A fusion of Hainanese and Peranakan flavours, this beloved dish was originally crafted by Hainanese immigrants who adapted local spices and ingredients when they arrived in Singapore in the early 20th century.

Carrying its rich history into Singapore’s dynamic gastronomic landscape today, the dish has since woven its way into the hearts and taste buds of locals and tourists alike. Japanese chef Eddie Murakami will showcase his pizza craftsmanship to our city this March at new pizzeria, Beyond The Dough. Trained in the kitchens of Pizza Strada and Pizza Studio Tamaki in Tokyo, Japan, Murakami makes his pies with dough fermented for over 30 hours, and carefully bakes them in a wood-fire oven. Diners can anticipate a menu of classic favourites and unique house creations like the “Beyond Bianca” and “Singapore Rampage”. Stay tuned to find out more.
