The best way to travel like a local, is to ask a local. In this series of travel guides, we ask creatives and insiders from our global community to show us their city, their way

Lindsay Jang needs little to no introduction. She's the co-founder of internationally renowned yakitori joint, Yardbird, and its cool sister restaurant, Ronin.

More recently, Jang has gone on to become one of Hong Kong's most established lifestyle and wellness founders with Family Form—a mat-based, infrared-heated sculpting method set to bold music powered by Sonos, currently in residence exclusively at The Upper House.

If there's one thing you need to know about Jang, it's that she has an ability to turn whatever she's involved with into an instant cult classic. We chalk it down to hard work, a healthy appetite for risk and her exceptional taste.

We caught up with Jang to find out where she likes to eat, shop and relax in Hong Kong.

The Upper House

It's my home. My Family Form studio is there, it's in the best location, has an amazing breakfast, and has the perfect view for cocktails at night.

The Hula

I love shopping second-hand and upcycled [clothing], and The Hula has the best selection and service. They have storefronts in Central and Wong Chuk Hang.

Diplomat

This bar gets all the elements right - elevated yet approachable drinks, insane audio system and music selection, and "friendly" service from John.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Sometimes, I pretend I'm on vacation and go and sit poolside for an afternoon. It's the most legitimate vacation vibe in town.

Lindsay Jang's Favourite Hong Kong Restaurants

Yakinikumafia—my kids love it—Emmer for takeout pizza, and obviously Yardbird and Ronin.

My other go-tos are Samsen, Francis, Estro, and Nom Nom Dumplings. Also, One Harbour Road at Grand Hyatt is my favourite spot for dim sum.
