Besides Keung To, Anson Lo, Edan Lui and three other Mirror members will debut individual solo shows—five years after the Canto-pop boy band was formed

Collectively known as In My Sight, the series of solo concerts by six of the 12 members of Hong Kong Canto-pop boy band Mirror will begin this summer. The series will kick off with Jer Lau’s shows at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 7 to 9, 2023. After that, the concerts will move to Asia Expo Arena for Anson Lo from July 23 to 25, Keung To from August 3 to 5, and Edan Lui from August 26 to 27. Anson Kong’s and Ian Chan’s shows are slated for summer next year.

At last week’s press conference for the upcoming concerts, it was revealed that Lo’s concert will experiment with visual effects on stage, and that Lau had been compiling his setlist for a solo concert someday since day one with Mirror. “The best opportunities belong to those who are well prepared,” Lau said, and teased that one of the songs he plans to include will be about the universe.

For his fellow band member Lui, however, the opportunity came as a surprise. “I haven’t written enough songs,” he said. “It takes at least 20 songs to [make] a concert. I’ll need to release more songs soon.”

Meanwhile, like Lau, Keung has also been preparing for a solo concert for a long time. “Most artists want to express their personal thoughts in a concert,” Keung said, “[but] for me, the most important thing is to focus on the basics: singing my songs and dancing well onstage. I hope my audience will see my improvements [as a performer].” He added that his greatest challenge would be getting his artist friends to collaborate with him on the concerts.

For select show dates, 70 per cent of ticket sales will be reserved for members of Miro— Mirror’s official fan club that is owned by the MakerVille Company—to purchase before they are released to the public for sale.
