The Citadel and Love Again star is one of India’s highest-paid actresses, enjoying a two decades-long acting career as she now embraces parenthood with her husband of five years, Nick Jonas. The 40-year-old megastar has also worked to celebrate and encourage more South Asian representation in Hollywood.

Shraddha Kapoor

At 36, Shraddha Kapoor is a Hindi film icon with 82.1 million Instagram followers, beloved by fans for her riveting performances in Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree and the 2023 romance comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Lovingly dubbed as ‘India’s Barbie’ by netizens, Kapoor has often spoken out about the need for more female-centric Hindi films and has been open with audiences about her experiences speaking up and asking for a bigger role over cameo appearances in hit films like Stree, the highly-anticipated sequel of which is slated for 2024.

We could almost hear the frenzied buzz of Deepika Padukone's 75.2 million Instagram fans when the first visuals for the 2024 film Fighter dropped on August 2023– an action thriller in which Padukone plays an air force pilot.

The award-winning Indian actress and producer also founded The Live Love Laugh Foundation in 2015 to destigmatise mental illness and support people suffering from depression, just a year after she was diagnosed with clinical depression. An ambassador for global brands like Louis Vuitton and Cartier, Padukone made her own Hollywood debut in 2017 with the action hit xXx: Return of Xander Cage alongside co-star Vin Diesel.

Katrina Kaif

Hong Kong-born actress, singer, and beauty entrepreneur Katrina Kaif has 75 million Instagram followers. The Tiger Zinda Hai star is also among the highest paid actresses in Bollywood and stars in highly anticipated 2023 films that include Merry Christmas and Tiger 3, the latter alongside co-star Salman Khan.

Fun fact: Kaif spent her early years working as a fashion model in London and India. Her acting debut was in the 2003 film Boom!, which was a commercial failure, with many criticising the actress’s poor command of Hindi.
