En Voyage is a new digital exhibition featuring the great impressionist painter's work in an immersive setting

En Voyage with Claude Monet is a digital exhibition of the French painter’s work: visitors don’t just get to set eyes on Monet’s masterpieces, but also experience his art journey, which is traced from Paris to London then the Netherlands and Norway through 360-degree animation—yes, even underfoot—across thousands of metres of screens. Paintings are brought to life through a marriage of light and sound that would not only have delighted the famous impressionist and his peers, but also shows how classic art can tastefully and respectfully mesh with technology to enhance the gallery viewing experience for a new generation of art-lovers.

Starting from October 18 at the Xiqu Centre at the West Kowloon Cultural District, 300 of Monet’s works will go on show digitally in a space filled with art. The exhibition starts with an introduction to the artist leading into the main immersive room before the experience ends with an interactive room, where Monets are rendered via VR, AR and as NFTs. From Springtime, Monet’s painting of his first wife, Camille Doncieux, resting in nature, to pieces from his mammoth Water Lilies body of work, visitors will feel immersed in a comprehensive presentation of paintings by one of the most famous artists ever to have lived.

Since debuting in 2019 in Turin, Italy, the exhibition has travelled through Belgium, Spain and the US before making its Asian debut in Hong Kong. From October 18 to January 15. Tickets via kkday.com
