Van Cleef & Arpels Supports Sifa Dance Performance

The French jeweller presents an award-winning dance performance about nightclub dances at the Singapore International Festival of Arts. 

Award-winning dance performance 'Le Syndrome Ian' by Christian Rizzo will be raising the curtain at Sota Drama Theatre as part of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (Sifa).

The performance casts the spotlight on nightclub dances with Rizzo—director of the well-known ICI (Centre chorégraphique national de Montpellier - Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée)—reminiscing about his own experience and what he sees happening on the dance floor every night. Nine dancers will take to the stage and enthral the crowd as the music tempo alternates between fast and slow.

Van Cleef & Arpels has been instrumental in bringing this dance performance in for Sifa. The French jewellery marque is one of the major supporters for 'Le Syndrome Ian' , which has been awarded the Fedora–Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet 2016—a prize to champion new ballet creations and encourage innovation in the field of dance. (Fedora is a non-profit organisation that pushes for new frontiers in opera and ballet by raising funds for new productions by emerging artists.)

The brand has been involved with the world of dance since the early 1940s when Louis Arpels, the youngest of the Arpels brothers, pushed for the maison to produce ballerina clips. He was a huge fan of ballet and opera. These ballerina clips became a huge part of the maison's history as well as define one of its most definitive styles.
