The Bulgari Resort Bali and its newly refurbished wedding chapel set the backdrop for the couple celebrating the 20th anniversary of their marriage this year.

A love for sports brought Trina Liang-Lin and Edmund Lin together. They first met when he was visiting Singapore from New York to play with Trina’s American touch football team; serendipitous, as Trina had always yearned for a partner who shared her passion for sports.
In fact, numerous special moments during their 20-year marriage include sports. Recently, Edmund arranged centre court seats at Wimbledon to watch the women’s semi-finals. He enthuses, “I know Trina loves tennis, and we had a fabulous time.”
The couple had a long-distance relationship for six months, as Trina was working in London and Edmund had moved to Singapore. Today, the fact that both their jobs require them to travel constantly is a challenge, but the adage that absence makes the heart grow fonder is absolutely true in their case.

Trina says, “Giving the other person some space makes our marriage work better. For us, it’s better that we are sometimes apart, and when we come together, we really appreciate being together. Love is not just a word; it’s about action. We show each other love in many ways, not necessarily by saying ‘I love you’ all the time. But I think the way Ed cares for my friends and family speaks volumes.” Edmund adds, “Love simply means putting Trina first every time.”
The walk down the steps to the beach offers splendid views of the vast blue ocean.
Travel is not just a necessity for the couple, but it’s also a binding factor as they both enjoy exploring new cities. In fact, this is their sixth time at Bulgari Resort Bali, and they are planning a safari with friends in 2017.
