Peak lapel

Best for: Black-tie events and formal dinners

The peak lapel is considered the most formal. They require the most skill to make and are also the most expensive type to manufacture.

These are also the most flattering: the corners of the lapel draw the eye up towards the shoulders, creating a slimming effect.

They look best on a double-breasted jacket and a single-breasted jacket. For the latter, ensure that the buttoning point is not too high so it doesn't shorten the frame.
