There is usually great fanfare surrounding celebrity weddings. But for 40-year-old Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and 42-year-old Hong Kong actor and director Stephen Fung, tying the knot turned out to be a secretive and low-key affair. The couple wedded on September 3 in Prague, with no more than 20 guests in attendance.

Shu Qi, Bulgari ambassador and a frequent stunner at red carpet events, wore a simple wedding gown from H&M and a Bulgari Serpenti wedding band. Her customised engagement ring—inspired by the romantic city of Venice where, according to Bulgari, the first engagement rings were exchanged in 1503—was also from the Italian jeweller’s Dedicated to Venice collection.

In a statement released by the couple, they said, “Yes, our marriage is this simple. Our bridal attire this casual. Our decision this sudden... We won’t have a banquet or party...”
