Time for couples and families to start planning their well-deserved staycations

Believe it or not, 2021 is coming to an end within a matter of months—and Covid-19 is still a pertinent issue that the world is battling. However, restrictions have eased, albeit in phases, but one thing most Singaporeans are thankful for is the ability to go for staycations since travelling abroad is not on the cards for most people. Hotels in Singapore have welcomed guests since July last year when the country entered phase two of its safe re-opening, after the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) released an advisory on July 3, 2020. These hotels must comply with various safety management measures in order to re-open.

STB had said: “Hotels must also address key outcomes in their application to reduce potential transmission risks and support contact tracing efforts. Risk factors for hotels to consider include proximity between guests, propensity for crowds to form, level of activity and number of high-touch surfaces.”

We've put together a list of the best hotels to experience for a well-deserved break. Start planning your staycations (if you have not already) so you can make your bookings for long weekends or even New Year's Eve.

1. Andaz Singapore

Mastering the balance between luxury and boutique, the hospitality offered at Andaz Singapore is welcoming yet unobtrusive. Designed by Asia's leading interior designer and architect André Fu, Andaz Singapore is inspired by the heritage of its Bugis neighbourhood, evoking the experience of wandering between the alleyways of shophouses. These references extend to the hotel rooms, where you’ll find charming wooden folding doors and bespoke post-box doorbells. It definitely helps that most of the rooms look out to stunning views of the city, including rows of colourful shophouses and iconic heritage sites.
