Miss playing board games with friends and family? The new Monopoly Explore! SG app could evoke a sense of nostalgia as you play

Love a good ol’ game of Monopoly? Chances are, it may have been a while since you’ve played board games with your friends and family especially during the coronavirus pandemic that forced all of us to remain in quarantine for a good part of 2020.

But what if we told you that it is now possible to relive your childhood days of playing Monopoly through an app, and that’s not all— it is an entirely new digital experience that celebrates Singapore.

Players can expect the traditional Monopoly gameplay but with a local twist on the Monopoly Explore! SG app, which is now available for download on Google Play Store and will be launching on February 22 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Players have from now until April 30, 2021 to download the app.

It is launched by Hasbro and First Wave Agency and developed in partnership with local businesses such as Foodpanda, BreadTalk Group, Propnex and more.

About the game

The Monopoly Explore! SG app will feature tiles in categories that represent four uniquely Singaporean experiences: Foods, Goods, Faces and Spaces. The tokens are locally themed, allowing players to choose from pieces such as a durian fruit, a HDB void deck table, and orchids.

Players will have to use the app’s own Monopoly$ currency, so they can acquire tiles and explore uniquely Singaporean experiences to win rewards till the end of April.

Explore Singapore’s cultural spaces such as Little India, National Museum of Singapore, Arts House and more through the app by inviting more friends to join.

Win prizes

Roll the dice to land on a tile, and make your move by choosing to acquire the tile to unlock more exclusive content such as informational videos and more games. Learn about museum treasures or take a quiz about Singapore’s iconic landmark to level up and increase your chances of winning prizes.

Acquiring The Good Tile will allow users to donate to local non-profit organisations such as The Food Bank Singapore.
