In the footsteps of the artists who made the Bolshoi Theatre famous, including opera singer Feodor Chaliapin and ballet dancer Maya Plisetskaya, Google offers a complete virtual tour from the building's entrance to the balconies and the orchestra pit. Backstage, virtual visitors can explore the building's nine floors and wander through the practice rooms.
In addition to the virtual tour, the Google Cultural Institute is presenting three exclusive exhibitions on the history of the Bolshoi, based in part on a collection of archival photos dating from the 19th century.
