These young designers and brands are among the emerging talents spotted at the recent Maison&Objet (M&O) design fair in Paris

1/8 Rosie Li

Rosie Li started her career in lighting design with the prestigious Roll & Hill. Today, she designs and produces decorative light fixtures, many with botanical themes. Her latest collection, Bubbly, which is made in collaboration with glassblowers, consists of a giddy cluster of solid and illuminated spheres.

2/8 Atelier Polyhedre

Atelier Polyhedre challenges the identity of objects through their experiments with ceramics. Taking a graphic approach to tableware, their Coupe Circonférence and Fucus dishes open possibilities to a new style of dining.

3/8 AL_

AL_ captures the beauty of nature and its four seasons in its series of lifestyle products. The Stone soap made from natural oils rests atop a wooden tray that mimics the ripples of water in its form.

4/8 Alex Brokamp

Los Angeles-based designer Alex Brokamp’s eponymous brand marries the process of craft with modern fabrication techniques in his Collate Table. He lets the production process create the piece by using a CNC router (a computer-controlled cutting machine) to gouge concentric swirls into the aluminium top.

5/8 Kin & Company

Describing what they do as “contemporary work that’s a little more avant-garde”, Kin & Company straddles the boundaries of art and furniture in their experiments with patina to produce various shades of rust and verdigris.

6/8 Clear b

The creative brainchild of Craft Combine, Clear b is a Korean purveyor of decorative objects that are locally made in borosilicate glass that is highly resistant to heat and impact. Both poetic and practical, their glass incense burners are made bowl-like to prevent the fallen ashes from scattering.

7/8 Extra&ordinary Design

Inspired by the gentle ruffles of traditional pouches used in South Korea, Extra&ordinary Design expands her range of vases with a new collection entitled Jumony. These are made and finished by hand; bespoke colours and finishes are also available.

8/8 Jotjot

Jotjot, together with design studio Kibisi, turns the mundane modularity of sofa design into a virtue in Brick, a sofa formed by stacking cushions in the style of brick-laying.
