The preview exhibition will feature three sets of concert costumes that Jay Chou wore during his 'The Invisible' world and an antique piano featured in his movie ‘Secret’
K11 Musea and Sotheby's are teaming up once again this June to present a preview exhibition of Jay Chou x Sotheby's, part of Sotheby's inaugural, Contemporary Curated: Asia auction series with musical icon and avid art collector Jay Chou as the esteemed curator. K11 Musea and Sotheby's, two learning cultural pioneers, first teamed up for Sotheby's spring auction preview last March.
From June 11–18, art collectors, lovers of music and culture and members of the public can visit K11 Musea to experience the singular artistic and curatorial vision of Jay Chou. Under his special direction, the traditional exhibition space will be transformed into an immersive environment, offering visitors an unconventional experience that unites fine art, culture and entertainment.
In addition to three sets of bespoke concert costumes that Chou wore during his seventh, The Invisible world tour and an antique ornate piano featured in his movie Secret, are on display. Other notable highlights include Jean-Michel Basquiat's Untitled from 1985, Pablo Picasso's Buste d'Homme, Banksy's Laugh Now But One Day We'll Be In Charge and Yoshitomo Nara's Homesick. Visitors can browse through more than 50 artworks from the evening sale and online sale day while proceeds from the auction will be given to charity.

“In this collaboration, I have directed a set design for the preview exhibition to bring people back to the times when these works were created. Audiences will not just be looking at the paintings but experiencing the paintings as being part of their space and time. I wish to share the powerful feelings and deep connections art has brought to me, and I hope this collaboration will leave everyone with different ways of understanding and appreciating the art that surrounds us every day," says Chou.
Known as the "King of Mandopop", Chou is a jack-of-all-trades in the entertainment industry: an international pop musician, singer-songwriter, actor and director. His stage performances and movies have captured the hearts of many and a well-recognised individual in the art scene as a passionate and avid art collector.
"I have always believed in the power of art—a medium of expression that sees no boundary or limitation. It isn’t something you need to try to get close to—by nature, it envelops our life each and every day. I feel that I have a mission to share my feelings about the art that inspires and motivates me. Through my music, my filming projects, my social media and by collaborating with Sotheby’s, I hope more people will understand what art brings to our lives," he says.
