Up next is the International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS), an annual event that will run from March 9 to 12 at the Singapore Expo. Although you won’t be able to physically purchase furniture pieces directly at the trade event, visitors do get tantalising teasers of new collections that will reach stores soon, from furniture brands based in Singapore and beyond.

Here, we speak to some of the participating brands for a peek at the trending pieces and styles that homeowners should look out for.

Ipse Ipsa Ipsum

Singapore-based furniture firm Ipse Ipsa Ipsum (which means himself, herself itself in Latin) first started as a silverware manufacturer in India. Today, the company produces handcrafted furniture accessories at its arts centre in India, in collaboration with designers from around the world. Its most recent team-up with local designer Nathan Yong was inspired by the regal grandeur and graceful arches of Indian palaces, and the country’s rich heritage of craftsmanship. Top picks include the Udaipur Sofa (seen above), a modular seating system that comes paired with side tables, as well as a matching lamp and vanity mirror.

Where to buy: 111 Middle Road, National Design Center, #03-14, ipseipsaipsum.com

Entune Living

Fans of elegantly minimal furniture should check out the OM by Gal Tevet pieces at the Entune Living booth. Designed by the Israeli architect, the new Strata collection was inspired by the geology term, which is used to describe layers of sedimentary rock. Clad in wood veneer and lacquered wood, these furniture pieces feature thin and thick lines, just like the varying stripes found on rocks such as sandstone.
