Innovfest Unbound is back as the anchor event of this year's Smart Nations Innovation Week, and it will see key players in the global tech arena gather to celebrate innovation, foster new partnerships, and discover the emerging trends that will define the next wave of digital disruption. The innovation festival marks its fifth edition with a larger presence at Marina Bay Sands on June 27 and 28, and will feature original, thought-provoking content in the forms of keynotes, panel discussions and fireside chats spread over five themed stages, as well as workshops. There will also be 400 exhibitors from over 100 countries attending the event, introducing new technologies and searching for the next exciting partnership.

A key annual event on the calendars of entrepreneurs and corporations invested in innovation alike, the festival is organised by NUS Enterprise and UK-based innovation festival organiser Unbound, in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA)

Among the speakers in its incredible line-up is Sir Martin Sorrell, executive chairman of S4 Capital, who will engage in a fireside chat with Unbound's co-chairman Yossi Vardi, as well as Ralph Hunter, president of Microsoft Asia, who will be in part of a panel discussing the meaning of being part of today's rising digital economy. Some pertinent topics that will be touched on include embracing technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, and how one can navigate them to better enhance their consumer's experience.

On the expansion of Innovfest Unbound, professor Freddy Boey, deputy president (Innovation and Enterprise) from the National University of Singapore shares, "Over the past five years, we've seen Innovfest Unbound grow in terms of the number of attendees, speakers and exhibitors, which is evidence of the growing relevance of technology and innovation. More importantly, attendees are making powerful connections during Innovfest Unbound—connections with potential partners, investors and licensors."

Besides the array of professional speakers helming the event, there will also be a multitude of opportunities for startups to pitch for additional funding as well as network with like-minded individuals.

For one, six fintech start-ups will be competing in the Future of Finance Start-up Battle, a competition that seeks revolutionary solutions for the financial sector. The winner will score an opportunity to travel to the Middle East and North Africa's largest fintech festival with all expenses paid for.

Similarly, the Unilever Foundry Start-up Battle will see 20 up-and-coming start-ups with big plans to shake things up in the retail industry fight it out. Only five of these start-ups will eventually be given the chance to pitch on the main stage, with the winner walking away with $5,000 and the chance to work with Unilever Foundry, a UK-based platform that connects innovative startups on a global scale.

Much like one of Innovfest Unbound's aims of sieving out the next generation of game-changers, Generation T, Asia Tatler's very own media and events platform, recognises exceptional individuals with a passion to learn, collaborate and make a change. Hence, Gen.T has come in as a media partner of the festival this year, providing discounted access to the two-day festival as well as access to private networking opportunities.

The Innovfest Unbound festival takes place on June 27 and 28, 2019.
