From giving migrant workers a chance to go on the Singapore Flyer to allowing autistic individuals to go to the zoo, there are many ways to do good with your free vouchers
At the end of last year, Singapore citizens aged 18 years and above were given $100 worth of SingapoRediscover vouchers by the Government. These vouchers were aimed at encouraging Singaporeans to visit tourist attractions, hotels and local tours to boost traffic within the tourism industry that suffered and continue to suffer from the effects of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
These vouchers can be used till June 30 this year, however, if you don't know what to do with your vouchers or perhaps simply have no use for them, don't just let them expire and go to waste. Consider donating your vouchers to communities and individuals in need.
While your vouchers cannot simply be given away, there have been many initiatives between charities and tourist spots in Singapore which allow you to purchase experiences for different groups of people.
All you have to do is log in with your Singpass and purchase the packages on registered sites and the attractions will deal with the rest.
Read on to find out what you can do with your Rediscover vouchers this year.
1. Give a migrant worker the chance to go on the Singapore Flyer
Our migrant workers are often the most overlooked community in Singapore. This is why ItsRainingRaincoats, a group that aims to improve the lives of migrant workers in Singapore, started an initiative to allow Singaporeans to donate their Rediscover vouchers to them.
By donating your vouchers, as well as a $5 top-up, you can provide three migrant workers with the chance to go up on the Flyer.
