Capella Singapore x Maserati: Hotel Staycation Review
With travel restrictions, staycations have gained an even higher level of popularity among Singaporeans as they seek different ways of experiencing #Singapoliday. For the month of November, there is a unique, adrenaline-pumping staycation option that will excite the petrolheads.
Maserati Singapore has partnered Capella Singapore to offer an exclusive staycation in a Maserati-themed villa for just one month. Guests will embark on an Italian adventure as they experience la dolce vita with the Italian marque's fast cars while enjoying slow living at the same time.
Nestled among the property's lush and leafy grounds of Capella Singapore, the one-bedroom Maserati-themed villa comes with a living room area—its daybed is perfect for lounging and whiling time away—an outdoor terrace with a 3m by 3m private plunge pool, a spacious bedroom area with a king-sized bed and as well as a bathroom with a separate rainforest shower.
To give motorheads the full auto experience and to showcase the brand's ethos, Maserati Singapore has decked out the villa with its branded amenities and literature—all of which are available for purchase. Flip through the tomes to better understand Maserati's heritage and style, while signature collectibles such as golf umbrellas, expresso cups and saucers and bathrobes complete the experience. Model cars, including a remote-controlled version, are thoughtfully placed to remind hotel guests why Maserati is the builder of some of the fastest and finest luxury automobiles in the world.
Go for a test drive
Of course, the cherry on the icing of this staycation is the opportunity to get behind the wheels of the Maserati Levante SUV and take it for a spin around the country. The 6-hour-long driving experience allows one to experience the twin-turbo V6 engine, which can go up to 350hp and completes the century sprint in merely 6 seconds with a maximum speed of 251kmh.
Here is a tip: since Sentosa is situated near the Pasir Panjang area, test the car's power and acceleration (within reasonable and legal limits, of course) along the West Coast Highway. The long stretch will give one a clear indication of why the Levante is described as a SUV with the soul of a grandtourer. And for the slightly experienced drivers, check out the best the SUV's double wishbone suspension layout—a Maserati tradition—and the Sport Skyhook suspension can offer along South Buona Vista Road, affectionately known as 99 Turns among petrolheads. While cruising along the meandering road, they will find the driving experience such a relaxed and enjoyable one as the car shows its impressive handling prowess and dynamic performance.
Another plus point of the Levante is the ease of use of the Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) unit at the centre of its dashboard. It's highly intuitive to use as it's designed to help the driver maintain focus on the road ahead. Not only does the MTC+ manage the entertainment functions, it also controls the navigation help, front seat heating, as well as the ventilation.
Happy hour at Bob's Bar
Feeling thirsty after the drive? Swing by Bob’s Bar at Capella Singapore and enjoy the Maserati aperitivo—not before picking up a trick or two from the bartender, who will give a masterclass on the art of cocktail concoction.
A Maserati Escapade is only available throughout the month of November. To reserve a stay, click here.
