We take a peek behind the scenes at Singapore Tatler's June cover-cum-lead story photo shoot with society favourites Chin Bottinelli, Marilyn Lum, Miranda Walsh and Roy Teo

Just like in real estate, three of the crucial elements of a photo shoot are location, location, location.

We’re always on the hunt for venues and sets to serve as the backdrop of our covers and spreads: think an enchanted garden for a whimsical fashion spread, lush emerald expanse for a travel story, or the graphic facade of a skyscraper for an in-depth piece on property tycoons.

For this month’s cover story on special spots at home, the Singapore Tatler team had it slightly easier—just for June. We did not have to go far to find stunning backdrops, thanks to the already picture-perfect abodes of Chin Bottinelli, Marilyn Lum, Miranda Walsh and Roy Teo. All we needed were some pieces from Burberry and Etro topped with Bulgari jewellery to complete the look.

As the day progressed, we realised that shooting at home meant that break-time is really snack and playtime. We were served an array of savoury pastries and decadent dessert, and spent quality time running after Chin’s daughter Ornella and Roy’s dogs Ralph and Bronte.

But more importantly, in each strikingly curated home, we discovered how their owners’ professional and personal philosophies converged as they shared their thoughts on gracious living, artistic inspirations and functional luxury, that is, the importance of building a peaceful fortress they can retreat to, and where memories are made.
