4 Reasons To Splurge At The Four Seasons Hong Kong
Did someone say "springtime vacay"?
When it comes to living luxurious, Hong Kong has no shortage of swanky restaurants and hotels - but how do you choose between them? We check into the Four Seasons, and find out the four reasons to put it at the top of your staycation list.
The large, harbour view rooms are beautifully decorated with a calming, muted palette and high-quality materials that make you feel at once spoilt and instantly relaxed. The 484 square foot room has high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Victoria Harbour, as well as comfortable leather chairs, a spacious working area and a stunning marble-clad bathroom. However, one of the best things about a night spent at the Four Seasons is the part where you’re actually sleeping. The moment you slide into one of the hotel’s infamous signature king beds, you genuinely feel as though you have landed, weightless, on a cloud. This may have something to do with the fact that the property switched all their mattresses earlier this year to special custom-made versions from Simmons, designed especially for the Four Seasons. A mattress and pillow menu by the bed allows guests to choose between a range of mattress toppers from plush to extra firm, to achieve your desired squishiness. What’s more, the housekeeping team can change the mattress in 15 minutes or during turn down service if you change your mind. Better yet, you can take your Four Seasons experience home with you, as it now sells its dreamy Simmons bed sets online.
For anyone partial to a good pool, the Four Seasons undoubtedly has the upper hand amongst the 5-star hotels in town. It's two large outdoor pools boast truly magnificent views over Victoria harbour. There’s a 65-foot-long lap pool, an 80-foot-long heated infinity pool and a poolside restaurant which serves excellent informal dining options. The pool staff are wonderfully attentive, providing fresh towels, complimentary teas and water for anyone venturing to take a dip.
Rated five stars by the Forbes Travel Guide in 2016, the spa at Four Seasons is a shimmering oasis of calm and indulgence. A set of spacious and low-lit yellow rooms includes a sauna, steam room, large jacuzzi, sleek changing areas and a relaxation room that comes with individual TV screens, healthy teas, juices and snacks.
For a small additional cost, guests can upgrade to Executive Club status, which allows you full use of the light and airy Executive Club Lounge on the 45th floor for the entirety of your stay. Open 24 hours a day, the lounge serves a wonderful hot breakfast buffet, an afternoon tea, cocktails and a light supper for up to two guests. If the idea of all you can drink 24-hour Champagne appeals, this is the place to be. There’s also a stunning balcony on which you can sit and have a drink, enjoying some fresh air and the stunning views of the harbour. The staff here are super-attentive and thoughtful, attending to your every need—whether it’s some last-minute garment pressing or simply a top-up.
