Led by Harijanto Setiawan, who has changed the image of floral design, Boenga is the answer to every host’s dream of an elegant party.

In Singapore and a number of countries in the region, the floral arrangement needs of some of the glitziest parties are handled by Harijanto Setiawan. Hosts, whether they’re a wedding couple, the organiser of a charity ball, or a hotel that’s planning a grand New Year’s Eve gala, know him as the go-to man for dramatic centrepieces.

Harijanto is synonymous with distinctive and flamboyant floral decorations. “Mind-blowing” and “out of this world” are just some of the adjectives that have been used to describe his works. Indeed, when only something out of the ordinary will do for your event, you can trust Harijanto to deliver a magical scene that will inspire and move your guests.

Harijanto’s floral studio Boenga has been the floral architect behind stunning set-ups at celebrity weddings and high-end events including the Singapore Tatler Ball. The team is driven by a desire to surprise and delight its clients while fulfilling their wishes. Every magnificent arrangement and setting begins with an in-depth discussion with clients to understand their objectives and tastes before a customised proposal is drawn up.

No request is too big for this studio, which has done the floral decorations for weddings attended by up to 10,000 guests. The look of awe on the faces of guests as they enter a dramatically transformed venue speaks volumes of the great mastery of this talented team, which has turned floral arrangement into an art form with a larger-than-life presence.

An architect by training, Harijanto has an innate ability to visualise and can combine multiple elements into a large-scale concept. Over the years, the affable man who is also the principal floral consultant for The Ritz-Carlton, Krabi in Thailand, InterContinental Danang in Vietnam and The St. Regis Singapore, has earned numerous international awards. In 2014, he was honoured with a Silver-Gilt Medal from The Royal Horticultural Society in London and in 2013, he also received the International Designer of the Year Platinum award by Fusion Flowers in London. At home, this president of the Floral Designers Society (Singapore) was named Designer of the Year at the 2013 President’s Design Award, the first time the award was ever presented to a florist.
