Embark on a beautiful journey with us.

weddings cover2.jpgYou’ve heard it a million times: a wedding is the beginning of a lifelong journey with no map and the heart as the compass. At the same time, travel continues to be an increasingly common facet of couplehood—perhaps because more couples are meeting abroad, they come from different places, they enjoy exploring new places during courtship, and the sheer fact that we live in a cultural melting pot. So, putting the two ideas together, we celebrate great journeys in the Spring/Summer 17 issue of Singapore Tatler Weddings.

In producing the beautiful cover, we turned to Rebecca Caroline, which has charmed its way into the wardrobes of discerning women with its bespoke gowns that channel elegance and style through intricate details and impeccable hand craftsmanship. The atelier's simple goal in creating each gown is to accentuate the charm of the individual wearer. Aside from the modern, romantic cuts, the local brand is also known for its use of luxurious fabrics and the finest service. We couldn’t help but fall in love with this lace embroidered tulle gown with plunging neckline and tulle veil, featured on the cover. Those of us who are already married wish we could get married all over again, just so we can wear the stunning piece!

Lending more sparkle to the cover is jewellery by Chaumet, the French jewellery house whose legacy spans over 230 years and is intertwined with some of the greatest love tatler_tatler_stories—the most famous being that of Napoleon I and Empress Joséphine. While the house is known for its dazzling tiaras, equally coveted is its Aigrette collection that Chaumet created for Empress Joséphine. The cover features the Joséphine Aigrette bracelet in a delicate 18k pink gold with brilliant-cut diamonds paired with Chaumet’s Insolence ring in 18k white gold and pink gold with diamonds—a heart-achingly beautiful combination with the kind of regal air a luxury bride would expect of her wedding trousseau.

Inside the magazine, you’ll find gorgeous images and engaging editorial from cover to cover, whether it’s inspiration for your wedding cake and must-do pre-wedding beauty treatments or the most trendy colour themes for your celebration.

Of course, a wedding is not just about the big day itself but all the preparations leading up to your walk down the aisle. Whether your big day is around the corner or a year away, make sure to enjoy the planning process. It’s been said that it doesn’t matter where you’re going, but who’s beside you. Very often, a bride leans on other women in her walk down the aisle, for advice, for help on the big day, and indeed, you’ll probably be handed values that have been kept in the family for generations. Whoever these special women are—your mum, sister, aunt, cousin or best friend—toast your sisterhood with a sparkling celebration. We offer ideas with a lovely photo spread featuring society’s best pals, Meaghan See and Nada Jumabhoy.

We also turn the spotlight on destination weddings, with expert tips on travelling with designer gowns and planning an overseas pre-wedding photo shoot, and even how to elevate your home with resort-inspired details to keep that wedding holiday mood for good.

In creating this issue, we travelled to Tembok on Bali’s northeast coast with city girl Sabrina Ho. While Bali, particularly its vibrant south, continues to be a popular location for destination weddings and shoots, we show you a different side of the Island of the Gods—what’s left of authentic Bali, and a godsend for frazzled to-wed couples in search of tranquillity and an ancient spiritual healing. Check out the gorgeous bridal gowns spread against a majestic backdrop.

Finally, don’t miss the special story this issue where married couples share how they’ve navigated their journey of love.

Enjoy every little step to your big day. It’s going to be your most epic adventure yet!
