The award-winning artist-curator has been chosen, from more than 100 applicants, to receive the luxury fashion retailer’s scholarship this year

Club 21 may be known for its fabulous high-end fashion brands, but the multi-label retailer is also equally passionate about grooming future talents from the region. That’s why in 2012, the Club 21 Scholarship – a bond-free and merit-based scholarship that supports outstanding students from the fashion, retail, service and creative fields – was born.

In order to be the winner, applicants must possess exceptional personal vision, drive and potential to succeed in their own careers, and at the same time, contribute to their fields through education, mentorship of other leadership contributions.

This year, after scanning through the applications that are submitted from 21 countries, Club 21 decided to present the prize to Daryl Goh, a multi-media artist-curator, and educator based in Singapore. Goh, who’s held many other prestigious accolades, including: The 1st Arte Catania Prize in Italy and Prize Rome Imperial in Rome, has exhibited his works internationally at the Carrousel du Lourve in Paris and the Parallax Art Fair – one of the United Kingdom’s largest annual art fairs.

Goh, who plans to pursue a Master of Fine Art at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology next year, comments, “I am deeply grateful for Club 21’s support in my creative endeavour. I will strive to continue giving.”

Mr Goh Ee Leong, Club 21 Regional General Manager, says, “As a fashion retailer, Club 21 is proud to support the creative arts, which are vital to a vibrant society and modern economy. We celebrate and share [Goh’s] personal passion and commitment to the community at large.”
