Fashion label COS heads to Seoul this winter for an interactive art exhibition at Gana Art Center.

COS  is teaming up with New York-based art and architecture studio Snarkitecture on an interactive project, which will take place at the Gana Art Center in the Pyeongchang-dong area of the South Korean capital. It will mark the third time the two creative teams have worked together on an artistic exhibit.

The installation will feature thousands of glass marbles that will travel around the exhibition space, creating a ‘mesmerizing’ experience that aims to provoke contemplation on the concepts of precision and chance. The piece was inspired by COS’s brand values and minimalist aesthetics.

“The installation merges the technical sensibility of the latest COS collection with Snarkitecture’s approach to create a playful and interactive environment,” Snarkitecture’s founders Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Karin Gustafsson, COS Creative Director, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Daniel and Alex for a third time and excited to see the installation come to life. Their experimental style and ability to engage with people through interesting uses of materials really strikes a chord with us. We are delighted to bring this installation to Seoula vibrant and dynamic city that resonates strongly with our brand.”

COS and Snarkitecture first collaborated on a temporary concept store that made its debut during the 2015 edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, before getting together once again to curate a retail space in Los Angeles in 2016.

COS is not the first big fashion name to lend its star power to an artistic installation this year. Back in March, designer J.W. Anderson opened his Disobedient Bodies exhibition in the UK, exploring the boundaries between fashion, art and design, while July saw Chloé celebrate the opening of its Maison Chloé store and museum concept in Paris with an exhibition of fashion photographer Guy Bourdin's photographs.

The COS x Snarkitecture installation will open to the public November 8-19 at the Gana Art Center, Seoul, South Korea.
