1. Rachel Wee and Ken Chen

Featured on British broadcasting station Channel 5’s documentary Crazy Rich Asian Weddings, Rachel and Ken’s wedding was truly the stuff of fairytales. The scion of Jean Yip Group and her beau tied the knot over an extravagant three-part wedding, with a lively traditional tea ceremony, a romantic solemnisation at the Church of St Teresa, and a marine-themed banquet at The Ritz-Carlton, a tribute to Rachel’s favourite mythical creature—mermaids.

2. Sabrina Ho and Kevin Matthews

It was love at first sight for Kevin, who met Sabrina on a night out with common friends at Lantern. Nearly six years of dating and two proposals later, the couple finally tied the knot with a dreamy island celebration in Phuket. Surrounded by close friends and family, Kevin and Sabrina exchanged their vows in a romantic solemnisation ceremony at Sri Panwa, overlooking the Andaman Sea, followed by a reception complete with fireworks and Hong Kong’s DJ Gruv on the decks.

3. Desmond Ngiam and Angelina Tan

Planning their wedding together from two separate cities, the physical distance was definitely not a challenge for Desmond Ngiam and Angelina Tan, who held a spectacular wedding at The St Regis Singapore last September. Reflecting their sense of humour through props at the photobooth, witty anecdotes of their family and even their wedding hashtag—#despangieto, a play on 2017 Latin hit Despacito, there was never a dull moment at the fun-filled celebration. The newly-weds even took to the dance floor to put up a flawless dance performance.

4. Melissa Peh and Alvin Soon

Melissa and Alvin’s dinner banquet in January was a night filled with good music at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Jazz maestro and close family friend Jeremy Monteiro serenaded the couple with two love songs, and the couple’s siblings also took to the stage for a surprise song and dance number. Alvin and Melissa, who is passionate about dancing, also took their first dance to Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand’s I Finally Found Someone, signalling the start of a new life together.

5. Jessicacindy Hartono and Kong Wan Long

After a 10-year courtship, it only made sense for Jessicacindy Hartono and Kong Wan Long to fete their romance with a fairytale wedding when they tied the knot this January. A dreamy, white wedding on the Alps in Gstaad, Switzerland, the couple were even treated to a snowfall that made the occasion much more magical. After the intimate ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated their union with a party in Le Grand Bellevue.

6. Vikna Rajah and Danna Er

Vikna Rajah and Danna Er enjoyed a two-part extravaganza for their wedding, which surprisingly was mostly planned by the groom himself. The celebrations began at the ballroom in The St. Regis Singapore, which saw them walking down an aisle specially lined with indoor pyrotechnics. Singaporean singer Alfred Sim and homegrown acapella group, The Apex Project were also on hand to entertain guests. Drinks were definitely in order as guests were treated to free-flow Cristal champagne and two customised Macallan cocktails by the newlyweds. The revelry continued two weeks later at Bvlgari Resort Bali, attended by the couple’s closest and dearest.
