Luxury furniture store Poltrona Frau turns to the East for sophisticated and modern furnishings by award-winning designers, Neri & Hu.

Think of Poltrona Frau and what immediately comes to mind is its list of highly respected and award-winning architects from around the world, as well as the countless beautiful and luxurious designs. From prestigious homes to first class airline suites, the international brand has adorned many interiors with its Italian-made furniture — from bergères to beds.
Up and Rising
At its recent Milan Furniture Fair showcase, one of the displays that grabbed the attention of design lovers was the Ren collection by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu (Neri & Hu). The designers have worked with several big brands such as Sulwhasoo, Selfridges and Le Meridien hotel, and have also racked up numerous accolades over the years, including those from the Design for Asia Awards and Taiwan Interior Design Awards.
This new collection is conceived after the designers studied the home entryway, which is the “border” between the public and personal space, and is also the area that guests catch their first glimpse of the homeowner’s style. This home range conjures a private and personal connection with the people that come to interact with these pieces, hence the sides of each design is shaped to look like the Chinese character “Ren”, which means “person”.
An Opulent Combination
The collection, which includes a coat rack, valet stand and tables, is a confident show of modern minimalism and functionality. The frames are made of solid Canaletto walnut to offer a sophisticated look, while all flat surfaces are in birch plywood and wrapped in Cuoio Saddle leather to evoke a sense of contemporary style. Brass elements — found on the inside of the joints between the upper crosspiece and the sides — also add luxurious final touches to the overall design.
With a focus on making your home feel “complete”, each piece will fit in seamlessly into any room — bedroom, bathroom, study or living area.
