Atlas Bar

Even if you’ve not been to Atlas, the bar at Parkview Square, you’ve probably heard of it. The stunning venue isn’t just praised for its food, drinks and service, but also its Art Deco-inspired decor. Immediately catching the eye is a ceiling-high display of classic and modern gins, which anchors the space as a magnificent centrepiece. There’s also a Champagne Room hidden under the bar, stocked with luscious bubblies that can be used to make bespoke cocktails. JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach

What was the nondescript drill hall of the Singapore Volunteer Corps in the 1930s known simply as Block 9 has become The Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. With design maestro Philippe Starck behind its refurbishment, the space now boasts dramatic light fixtures resembling iridescent icicles on the high ceiling, so half the event decor is taken care of. For greater impact, set up the bridal table at the mezzanine floor overlooking the ballroom, which seats up to 340 guests.
